Linking Events Activates for Brumos, Featuring Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus and smart

 

This past weekend, the Jacksonville International Car and Truck Show took place, and Brumos was in attendance with representatives from Linking Events. The Brumos Companies is originally a racing team, but now continues to lead the automobile industry with their lengthy line of dealerships, including Porsche, Lexus, Mercedez-Benz, SMART, and most recently, Sprinter.

 

Brumos has sold and raced Porsche's since the 1950's and is the only car dealership that can give you certification by race driver and Porsche legend, Hurley Haywood. He assures that all Porsche's have been test driven and approved to his standards. The Lexus of Jacksonville is a 14 time "Elite of Lexus" award winner, and the Brumos Motor Cars, official Mercedes-Benz dealership, has been committed to excellence for over 30 years. They are recently the winners of the "Best Place to Work" award for the Northeast of Florida by the Jacksonville Business Journal.

During this 2012 auto show Brumos brought out and showcased the Mercedes-Benz 2012 ML350, C250 Coupe, and E350-Cabriolet; Sprinter vans; the Lexus 2013 GS,  2012 RX, CT 200 Hybrid, IS CONV, and CT200h; the Porsche 2012 911-2dr RWD Coupe Carrera S, Cayman R, Panamera, and Cayenne S; and the SMART car.  During the car show guest had the opportunity to ask questions and sign up with one of Linking’s promotional specialists, who used an Apple iPad to enter them in a prize package giveaway. Prizes included two tickets to Hello, Dolly, a $200 gift package to The Capital Grille or two tickets to FSCJ Artist Series: The Blues Brothers Revue.

Linking Events Sets Up Activation for Brumos at the Jacksonville International Car & Truck Show

The Jacksonville International Car & Truck Show is a premier showcase of the newest model year import and domestic vehicles, which includes a wide range of types, from cars to vans to hybrids. Representatives for car brands are on site ready to answer any questions about the vehicles, and Linking Promotions has staffed product specialists for the local Brumos Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche dealership. The event takes place February 17-19, and Linking Events staff and product specialists are at the location, the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center, to begin set up for the three day event. The second load-in of cars is now complete and staff is putting the finishing touches on the vehicles to make them sparkle! Guests are expected to arrive tomorrow at noon.

The convention center, located in downtown Jacksonville, FL, opened in 1986, and was built to incorporate Jacksonville’s Union Stadium, which was part of a railroad station. The venue is located in the LaVilla neighborhood, which was once an important railroad hub. Additional square-feet were added to the structure to renovate it into what it is used for today. In the future, there are plans to convert the convention center back into its roots as a railroad terminal when the Florida East Coast Railway is reopened.

Fashion Funds the Cure: An Inspiring Event for Children with Cancer

For the second year in a row, Linking Events will be joining Mercedes-Benz for their activation at the 9^th Annual Bright House Networks Fashion Funds the Cure in Tampa. The event is presented by Neiman Marcus and Mercedes-Benz, and features a fashion show of young models that have battled cancer. The models will be escorted by local celebrities, all there to support the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. The store will be closing for this private evening of shopping, dining and a fashion show featuring spring season trends. The event will occur on February 29 and will be hosted by Carson Kressley of “Dancing with the Stars” and “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.”

 A similar event, Rally on the Runway – Fashion Funds the Cure, will take place March 24 in Atlanta for its third year. Linking Events will also be there organizing and detailing the event logistics for the Mercedes-Benz activation. This event is hosted by the Rally! Foundation for childhood cancer research, and is sponsored by Mondavi Winery and Mercedes-Benz. Twelve young cancer survivors and battlers will model the runway alongside professional models at this event hosted by honorary chair Curtis Lofton of the Atlanta Falcons.

Mercedes-Benz Participates in the Crohn's and Colitis Winter Ball Gala

Mercedes-Benz and Linking Events attended the Crohn’s and Colitis Winter Ball in Houston, TX. Linking Events handled the staffing logistics, providing a promotional model and an event lead for the evening. They were responsible for knowing details of the vehicles on display and collecting leads for a sweepstakes. Linking Events managed the activation by overlooking the Mercedes-Benz display details, providing training for the staff and maintaining the brand’s luxurious reputation. There were three car displays monitored by Linking Events in two prominent locations. Two cars were located by the valet, and a second display was staged in the second floor of the Hilton lobby just outside of the Ballroom of the Americas. The second display, an ML, was auctioned off and sold for $45,000. Guests of the event were given the opportunity to view the vehicles and learn key facts about them. 

The Winter Ball is the largest fundraising effort for Crohn’s and Colitis in Houston, and 2012 marks the 25-year anniversary of the event. The Winter Ball celebrates the steps being taken towards a cure for this disease. Crohn’s disease is a chronic disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive tract, most commonly the small intestine and colon. Ulcerative colitis is the other disease that belongs to a group of illnesses called inflammatory bowel disease.

The Winter Ball 2012 gala also commemorated the ABC-13 Women of Distinction for their volunteer service to the community. The Women of Distinction awards were presented by Mercedes-Benz Dealers of Greater Houston.
